Assigning the Pilot to the Port Trigger List: The Pilot is located under the "Digital Assistants" menu.
When you select the USRobotics Pilot in the Port Trigger List, you will notice that HotSync Monitor goes into the list. The "HotSync Monitor" is a program that runs in the background, waiting for you to press the HotSync button to synchronize between the Pilot and the Mac.
  To Access the Pilot: First time...
You must go into the HotSync Control Panel and if it is your first time
"HotSync-ing" make sure that the Local Setup is set to the correct port.
To access the Pilot you must go into the HotSync Control Panel* and click on "Start" under the HotSync Status. This will launch the HotSync Monitor and will cause Port Juggler to switch to the Pilot. The port will be in use by the Pilot until you "Stop" the HotSync-ing.
When you are done synchronizing your files you will need to select "Stop" under the HotSync Status in the HotSync Control Panel. This will quit the HotSync Monitor which will free up the serial port, allowing the port to be available to another device connected to the Port Juggler. Below is an example of the HotSync Control Panel.
*In the HotSync Control Panel you have the option to "Run HotSync Monitor at System Startup" if this option is selected the Port Juggler will switch to the port assigned to the Pilot until the "HotSync-ing" is stopped within the HotSync Control Panel.
 
Visioneer PaperPort
Connected to Port 1
When connected to Port 1, Port Juggler will take care of turning the PaperPort software on or off when switching between devices on Ports 2, 3 or 4. When using a device on Ports 2, 3 or 4, you will notice that Port Juggler will switch and then you will hear the PaperPort chime down. That means that the PaperPort is now inactive. When the device is finished using the port, Port Juggler will default back to the PaperPort and you will hear it chime back up. This notifies you that the PaperPort is now up and ready to scan documents.
Connected to Ports 2, 3 or 4
If you have the PaperPort attached to Ports 2, 3 or 4, all you need to do is launch the PaperPort application. If the port is not in use, Port Juggler will switch to the scanner and activate it. When you are finished using the PaperPort quit the application and Port Juggler will deactivate the scanners software and switch back to port 1.
Do not touch the ON and OFF switch located in the PaperPort Control Panel. Port Juggler will take care of activating and deactivating the PaperPort software automatically.
Wacom Graphics Tablet
Connected to Port 1
Wacom graphics tablet has a special backing off feature that allows other devices to share the port with it. For that reason it needs to be placed on Port Juggler’s Port 1. Because it is on Port Juggler’s Port 1, it gets a new port icon.
  Select the “Wacom Port” port within the “Comm. Port” setting in
Wacom’s Control Panel. Port Juggler will automatically activate and
deactivate the tablet software when switching between devices on
ports 2, 3 or 4.
Other Graphics Tablets
The other graphics tablets do not support the backing off feature so they need to be connected to Ports 2, 3 or 4.
